Work out your limit
After tax and EPF.
Rent, food, transport, bills, loan repayments and savings.
Small enough that losing all of it changes nothing.
How many times you plan to play.
Your limit: RM35.00 this month, RM8.75 per session. Treat it as spent once deposited, and stop when the session’s amount is gone. No top-ups.
The figures shown are an example: RM3,500 take-home pay, RM2,800 of essentials, 5% and four sessions. Replace them with your own.
How the calculation works
Left after essentials = take-home pay − essentials
Monthly limit = left after essentials × your share
Per session = monthly limit ÷ sessions
In the example, RM3,500 − RM2,800 leaves RM700. Five per cent of RM700 is RM35 for the month, or RM8.75 for each of four sessions.
The calculator never adds winnings to the budget. Plan as if the whole limit is lost; if a session ends ahead, that money is yours to withdraw, not extra money to play with.
Using the limit at MEGA63
- Deposit the session amount, not the month’s. MEGA63 deposits start at RM5, so a per-session limit below RM5 means fewer sessions, or none this month.
- When the session’s money is gone, the session is over. Do not top up, and do not bring next week’s amount forward.
- Withdrawals start at RM50. Money withdrawn is no longer at risk; see the withdrawal guide.
- Ask for a restriction if you need one. MEGA63 Customer Service can restrict or close an account on request — see responsible gaming help.
Signs the budget is not working
Depositing more than the limit, chasing a loss, borrowing to play, or hiding how much you play are signs to stop and talk to someone. Responsible gaming help lists where to get help in Malaysia.
Common questions about a gambling budget
How much of my income should I spend on gambling?
There is no safe percentage for everyone. Start from the money left after essentials and savings, and keep the share small enough that losing all of it changes nothing. If nothing is left after essentials, the budget is zero.
Should I count winnings in my budget?
No. Plan as if the whole limit is lost. Treat any winnings as money to withdraw, not money to keep playing with; the minimum withdrawal at MEGA63 is RM50.
What if my per-session limit is below RM5?
Then the month’s limit does not cover a session at MEGA63’s RM5 minimum deposit. Plan fewer sessions, or skip the month.
Does this calculator save what I type?
No. The calculation runs in your browser, and nothing you type is stored or sent.
Before you play
Write the session limit down before you open any game, decide when you will stop, and keep the limit even after a win. If a session goes beyond it, end the session; the next one starts from the plan, not from the loss.
